My class experience here was interesting. At first I thought this would be an awkward class for me since the only other person I knew dropped the class after the first week. The next couple weeks all I would do is answer questions, sit silently, and laugh to the odd joke made. Eventually I slowly got more comfortable in the class.
This class I learned a lot of new things, at least on the technical side. I understand a lot about sound before this course, but I still learned a lot though and I am glad I took and stayed in the course.
The most interesting thing in this course that I loved was sound folly, composing, and sound design. It really interested me because you could create something so new, so interesting, something different. Just like the sounds in Wall-E, Star Wars, Avatar, ect. I am defiantly taking that knowledge from those to use them in the possible future. If I get into sound design in real life I think I would enjoy it, but I don’t know where to go exactly right now.
Today was a great way to end class. We watched, funny and amazing commercials and all of us some what used what we learned.
To add? It would be nice to add more professional equipment into it, not always recording with it, since it is an intro to audio, but the ability to play with it. I know there was a lot of time consuming homework, but I was able to work with that since I had a spare in high school and access to a computer at home as well.
Funny when Dave made a comment about my continuity in my commercials because I was told I was great continuity and Assistant Director in an out-of-school film making program offered at Mitchell’s Youth Centre.
Overall, I loved the course :)
